Wildlife : Insects, Butterflies

A standardised butterfly transect was walked once a week from April to September in 2014-6. This covered the Westgate Gardens, Toddler’s Cove, Tannery Field and Bingley Island. 16 species have been recorded to date, with more likely to be listed in the future. The limited area of semi-natural habitat inevitably restricts the number of species likely to occur here.
